Orchard Dental Care offers porcelain veneers in Centennial, CO as just one of the ways to correct a wide variety of dental issues; Veneers can restore your confidence, and ensure a natural smile. Veneers are made with a thin, custom-made, stain-resistant shell that is affixed to your teeth to transform your smile from dull to dazzling.
How are porcelain veneers fitted?
First, the dentist trims the enamel on the front of your teeth to create room for veneers. Then, they create a mold of the trimmed teeth for the dental lab to create your custom-made porcelain veneers.
At your second visit to our office, your dentist will adjust and trim your porcelain veneers until they fit snugly, and then affix these to the front of the teeth using cement that matches your natural tooth color.
For a lasting bond, the dentist will etch the surface with gel. Once the veneers are set in place, they will bond the cement using a special light.
You’ll visit our cosmetic dentistry office at least once more so that your dentist can check how your gums have responded to the custom veneers. If further adjustments are necessary, they’ll be made during this appointment.
Don’t hesitate to discuss the possibility of using temporary veneers as you wait for the permanent dental fixtures to arrive. It usually takes about a week or two for your custom version to be finalized.
Benefits of Dental Veneers
As well as restoring your smile, porcelain veneers provide a natural oral appearance. You can use it to overcome a number of dental issues and other cosmetic flaws.
Since the shell is stain resistant, the veneers can also help you maintain a brighter smile for years. The porcelain veneers are not harmful or toxic to dental tissues, so it will never irritate your mouth or exacerbate gingivitis.
The veneers are made from wafer-thin sheets of resin or ceramic material, which means it can be fitted right into the tooth surface with little need for preparation or complicated overlay procedures.
