Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a liquid substance used to help prevent small cavities (or caries) from growing and/or spreading to other teeth. Other benefits of SDF are that it can provide immediate relief from dental hypersensitivity and it can also help to harden softened dentin making it more resistant to acid and abrasion.
While this is a preventative measure, it does not always eliminate the need for dental fillings or crowns if the function or integrity of the tooth is compromised.
